Substance-use treatment · United States

Detox & rehab nationwide

Medicaid, private insurance and private-pay options — with access to the federal treatment directory across all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and U.S. territories.

Find a treatment facility near you

SAMHSA’s FindTreatment.gov lists substance-use treatment facilities by location, services and payment options. It includes private and public providers; not every facility offers detox or accepts every insurance plan.

Search national treatment directory

This is access to an official nationwide directory, not an exhaustive facility list copied onto Patrick’s Path. Listings are not a guarantee of current openings, licensing status or insurance coverage.

Treatment by payment option

The directory links open the same national search. Choose your location, substance-use services and payment filters there. Medicaid and private insurance are payment types, not labels for who owns a facility.

Detox, residential & outpatient care

Detox / withdrawal management
Medical support for withdrawal. Confirm whether the facility provides hospital, residential or outpatient detox.
Residential / inpatient rehab
Treatment with an overnight stay. Medical services, length of stay and admission requirements vary.
Outpatient / IOP / PHP
Treatment visits or structured day programs without an overnight stay. Confirm substance-use services directly.

A qualified clinician determines the appropriate level of care. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be dangerous; get medical advice before stopping suddenly.

Need help finding an option?

SAMHSA’s National Helpline provides free, confidential treatment referrals 24/7 in English and Spanish. It is a referral service, not an admission or emergency service.

Also check your insurance plan’s provider directory. For Medicaid, your plan or state Medicaid agency can confirm covered providers and services.

Emergency: Call 911 for a suspected overdose, seizure or life-threatening symptoms. In crisis, call or text 988. Patrick’s Path is a behavioral-health crisis navigation network; it cannot send help or book admission. Do not submit personal or health information here.
